Elizabeth Martin Angell holds a Masters of Education, Curriculum and Instruction- Reading from North Carolina State University and a B.A. in Elementary Education and Geography from UNC- Chapel Hill. Elizabeth is currently a Literacy Specialist/Coach in Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools.

  • Earned National Board Certification (Middle Childhood Generalist) 2002
  • Provides 40 hours of literacy staff development yearly
  • Coaches literacy instruction of teachers in grades 3-5
  • Trained in Reading Recovery, Literacy Collaborative, and Literacy Coaching
  • Serves her school as Lead Proficiency Teacher
  • Develops and facilitates literacy workshops for teachers and parents
  • Taught online for the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school district
  • Awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2005-06 and 2000-01 school years.
  • Received two grants for the development of an audio book collection.

A North Carolina native, Elizabeth was born in Jacksonville, NC and has been living in the Triangle since 1994.
