Heather Coffey
Graduate Assistant
Heather Coffey is a former middle and high school English teacher, currently working on her PhD in Culture, Curriculum, and Change at UNC. Her areas of interest include critical literacy, English education, teacher education, and qualitative research methods. She earned a Bachelors in English Education from Elon University in 1998 and completed her Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in English at UNC-Greensboro in 2004.
In her role with LEARN NC, Heather aligns lesson plans to the NC Standard Course of Study and makes sure that teachers have access to all the fantastic resources LEARN NC has to offer!
When not working on her dissertation, Heather loves watching Carolina basketball and is learning to be a competitive swimmer in her next life.
