LEARN NC
I was born in Mayberry, NC with nothing to my name except an extra "C" that has been with me ever since. I can't explain it -- it's just simply there.
My life goal was to attend UNC-Chapel Hill; that dream was realized in 1991. After obtaining a degree in journalism, I tried my hand at the craft for three years. I had a quarter-life crisis and decided that I needed to be teaching, so I received my MAT in 1999.
After two rewarding years at Hillside High in Durham, I returned to Orange High School for one year, the site of my student teaching. The following year, we opened Cedar Ridge High School, and I have been there for the past six. I teach IB and AP psychology, and I also serve as the pitching coach for the Cedar Ridge varsity baseball team.
I will be married to the lovely and talented Jill Hiatt Lowe for 11 years as of June 2008. We have two robust young lads by the names of Ethan (soon-to-be 6) and Jared (3 going on 15). We live in Northern Durham and attend as many UNC sporting events and Durham Bulls games as possible.
