Leah Gotcsik

Instructor (Carolina Online Teacher Program)

Leah Gotcsik grew up in upstate New York and graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology. She also has an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While at Harvard, she completed a major research project highlighting the best practices for communication and collaboration in an online environment.

Leah has taught in schools and after-school programs, focusing on literacy support for students performing below grade level. She has also taught online, supporting teachers designing curriculum that incorporates new technologies.

She has held positions in education and exhibition development at the Field Museum, the USS Constitution Museum and Plimoth Plantation, where she co-authored You are the Historian, an interactive website and online curriculum which invites students to debunk the myths surrounding the "First Thanksgiving."

When she’s not thinking about education, you can find Leah performing, teaching, and directing improvisational and sketch comedy around the country.
