Suellen Epps
Instructor
Suellen Williams Epps holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Alabama, a Master of Arts in Education and Technology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Samford University. Her service to the state of North Carolina includes her time as a children’s public librarian and several years as a public school librarian and technology coordinator. She was also a classroom teacher in various public grade levels in her home state of Alabama.
Suellen is the Library Media and Technology Coordinator at Carpenter Elementary School in the Wake County Public School System where she has earned career status. Suellen has also worked in seminars at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT), has been on educational materials panels for the North Carolina Historic Sites and is working as a teacher leader and mentor.
She is a first run editor for R. Scott Ricks, a budding author of fiction. Additionally, she participates in the National Reading Recovery Council and attended the organization’s 2007 conference.
Professional accomplishments of which she is most proud include having facilitated the opening of the brand new library media center and technology program at Carpenter Elementary School and being invited to teach with LEARN NC.
In her spare time, Suellen most enjoys her husband, son and dog. She reads constantly and also does a fair amount of writing, gardening and home improvement.
