The 4-H Virtual Farm, developed by the Virginia 4H, strives to educate youth about farming, how food products are produced and processed, and to learn basic agricultural concepts. The scope of the 4-H Virtual Farm project targets the Standards of Learning for Virginia Public Schools.

Students are invited to select one of six different types of farms to explore:

  • Horse
  • Farm Pond
  • Beef
  • Dairy
  • Poultry
  • Wheat

Each of these tours also includes a video interview with a farmer or producer, a glossary of the lingo, interactive information and diagrams, farm science, and explanations about how the food gets from the farm to the lunchbox. At the end of each tour is a Blue Ribbon Challenge where students take a quiz about the farm and earn blue ribbons.
