The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides the Kids World webpage for elementary and middle school students. The site has four main sections: nutrition, food safety, general agriculture and history, and plant nutrition.

The Nutrition section includes information on the food pyramid, the five-a-day servings of fruits and vegetables, nutrition labeling and how to read them, and a quiz.

Food Safety has a quiz on preparing and serving a safe barbeque, a Bad Bug Book on food-borne illnesses, food safety facts, and a quiz.

General AG history provides an agriculture overview with facts and a clickable map of areas of North Carolina and the products from those areas. Barnyard Palace from the North Carolina State University Veterinary Medicine College shows students about the species of animals that can be found on a farm. The History Scrapbook highlights farming from yesteryear.

The Plant Nutrition section teaches students about horticulture. There is information on plant nutrients, soil testing, lawn and garden tips, reading a fertilizer label and more.
