At this site, a huge amount of information has been gathered by the Thomson Corporation. On the home page, you can browse information by organism, subjects, and geography. You can also view hot topics in biology and the latest biology news articles. From the home page, there are tabs for sections just for researchers, librarians, and students and educators. The section for librarians includes mostly information and links for scientific journals and organizations, along with some online reference resources. The section for students and educators also has a variety of reference resources for use with biology vocabulary, along with a section of teaching aids.
The teaching aids consist of links to almost 200 resources for biology, which you can search by keyword or browse. These resources are geared to a variety of grade levels, from elementary to college aged students. Some resources are free web-based materials, while others are products which require payment. Topics of these teaching aids range across the spectrum of biology, and they do require a bit of sifting through to find appropriate resources.
