This site has everything you'd want to know about the Cascade Mountain Range and volcanoes of the world. See America's Volcanic Past - North Carolina.

The USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory assesses hazards related to volcanoes before dangerous situations occur by identifying and studying past hazardous events. They provide warnings during volcanic crises by monitoring restless volcanoes and interpreting results in the context of current hazards assessments. They investigate and report on hazardous events after they occur to improve their assessment and prediction skills, and to help develop new concepts of how volcanoes work.

The site contains news and current events, Cascade Range updates, an interactive table with information regarding Cascades Volcanoes with links to new publications, current information, photos, maps, brief eruptive histories of each volcano, hazards assessment reports and maps for various volcanoes in the Cascade Range, an educational section with frequently asked questions, volcano terminology, easy to read information about volcanoes, facts about becoming a volcanologist, activities, videos, posters, teacher packets, edcational links, a section on the historical, cultural, and economic aspects of volcanoes, information and maps to the Cascade Range with travel, hiking, and lodging information, and and more.
