We Shall Over Come - Historic Places of the Civil Rights Movement
You can use this National Register of Historic Places Travel Itinerary to learn about the modern civil rights movement of African Americans in America. Many of the places where events of this heroic campaign occurred, such as churches, schools, homes, and neighborhoods, are listed in the National Register of Historic Places and are included in this itinerary. The 49 properties presented do not represent all of the sites important in the civil rights movement because a number of these places have yet to be recognized by National Register listing. The Selma-to-Montgomery March Route is a National Historic Trail and is not listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
