From the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina, this site provides national, regional, statewide and city precipitation and temperature data in line chart, bar chart, or table form. The website authors state that the data on the site are primarily intended for the study of climate variability and change. So the authors of the site explain that some observations have been adjusted to account for artificial effects introduced into the climate record by factors like instrument changes, station relocations, observer practice changes and urbanization. The result is that some values presented on the site differ from official observations.
