The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources creates this electronic magazine for kids in grades 4-8 and their teachers too. EEK! is a constantly changing and updated magazine-like website that features all kinds of environment information, games, and activities.

Kids will want to visit the Nature Notes section to find out what is going on outside at that time. For example, when this abstract was written, it was autumn and the Nature Notes contained all sort of information about bird migration, getting ready to feed the winter birds, and bird feeder "bandits." There was also information about recognizing different animal tracks, a featured critter of the month (the turkey, of course), and all the answers to those questions about how leaves change colors.

Other sections of the website contain games and information about endangered species, alien invaders (foreign animals and plants living in America), and recycling. You can take an animal tracks quiz, find out how to make gifts out of garbage, and learn to make a pine cone wreath.

Because this website is just like a magazine, what you find may be different than what you read about here. But it is sure to have all kinds of interesting information and projects related to nature and the environment.

Teachers can find way to help their students use this material on the teachers resources page.
