History of Forestry from North Carolina State University Libraries' Special Collections Research Center, the Biltmore Company in Asheville, the Forest History Society in Durham, and the University of North Carolina at Asheville established this web site to provide access to digital collections of original documents, images, and other resources from the first organized forestry school at Biltmore Forest near Asheville, North Carolina to the general public, students and scholars.

In addition to providing historical context to the history of forestry, this website brings together collections of primary source materials that include diaries, correspondence, articles, field notes, photographs, and other materials. This website contains the following collections:
