Freedom: A History of US is another great feature from PBS that is a companion website to a television series by the same name. This resource explores the founding principles and events of the United States. It includes several "webisodes" beginning with the colonists struggle for freedom in the Revolutionary War and continues on to explore the contradictory notions of freedom for Native Americans and Black Americans. These webisodes take the learner through American history from these early times in American history to the freedom movements in the 1950's and '60's and leads the student to question what will happen next.

In addition to the webisodes, find interactive games that “incorporate fun visual and textual elements to provoke a deeper understanding of some of the pioneering figures and groundbreaking events in our nation's history.” Students can also take quizzes based on each of the webisodes and read stories about everyday American citizens experiencing the advantages and obstacles that the U.S. offers.

Additionally there are numerous images from American history and a teacher's page that includes a historical primer, teaching guides, and an interactive timeline.
