This interactive site from the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, New York tells the story of farming and the community over the past 200 years. The clickable map allows viewers to find out "where our food comes from, how and where it grows, and compare life in 1845 with our modern world." Each building has a video explanation of its use and a VR tour. Students can make their own video about the village. While touring the village, students can save videos, pictures, and animations. They can edit their video and add music and title cards.

There is also a primary sources database of objects and documents from the Farmer's Museum. The database can be searched by keyword or browsed by type, theme, or geography. Images may be enlarged and printed.

Educators will find 16 interdisciplinary activities and 4 module units to be used with 4th grade students. Although aligned with the New York state standards, this site can be used in teaching about the history of farming in any state.
