From the US Fish and Wildlife Services, the North Carolina Ecological Services website provides information on the endangered species of North Carolina, wetlands, conservation and more.

You can find all kinds of information about ecological programs going on in North Carolina ranging from habitat conservation to reducing contaminants. Particularly in the endanged species portion, you will be able to get information about the Endangered Species Act of 1973 as well as description of North Carolina endangered species, which include the Eastern Cougar, the Piping Plover, the Waccamaw Silverside, the Saint Francis' Satyr Butterfly, and more.
