We use water every day of our life. We drink it, we use it to brush our teeth, and we even use it to grow our food! Because water is so important to our bodies, it is important that we learn how protect the quality of lakes, rivers, and other water supplies around us and to conserve water whenever possible. Find links on issues related to water quality and water usage. For information on monitoring the quality of rivers and lakes in your area, learn what a Water Quality Index is and how to test these water supplies. There is also a fun experiment you can do in your home or school to learn about water usage and loss, as well as the importance of conservation.
Also find a link to the Scrub Club program -- a fun, interactive, and educational website (www.scrubclub.org) that teaches children the proper way to wash their hands. The site consists of a Webisode, interactive games, educational music, downloadable activities for kids, educational materials for teachers and program information for parents.
