Passport to the Rainforest
From Passport to Knowledge, Passport to the Rainforest explores the most diverse and concentrated areas of life on our planet — the Amazon basin and other rainforests. Guided by some of the world's leading biologists, you may learn more about leaf-cutter ants, dung beetles, canopy ecology, social spiders and plan ecology. An Index of media provides direct access to audio and video files. Instructional resources are targeted at secondary students, but activities can be adapted up or down in grade, and also provide connections to math, social studies, language arts, technology, and other disciplines, while meeting the National Science Education standards. Designed for student-researcher interaction, this program is no longer interactive though there are archival and informational resources that remain very useful.
