The National Poetry Almanac section of the website has "365 days' worth of poetry highlights, activities, ideas, and history for individual exploration and classroom use." There are 12 sections or monthly themes which include Poetry and Music, Literary Landmarks, Great Poetry Anthologies, Poetic Forms and Techniques, Groundbreaking Books, and more.

The For Educators section provides lesson plans and units, a teacher's forum, essays on teaching, and other teaching resources. The website houses biographies of hundreds of poets and has nearly 2000 poems.
