Located in the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Washington state and Vancouver, Canada, Race Rocks is Canada's first Marine Protected Area established under the Oceans Act. The innovative technical capabilities of the racerocks.com allow Race Rocks to be shared world wide without negative impact on the physical location; a unique accomplishment in the world.

Explore the complete taxonomy of the ecosystem at Race Rocks and view archived and real-time video of the sea lions, northern elephant seals, and other marine mammals visible from the webcams. Special web events are scheduled, and there is an archive of media coverage about the marine reserve. This site is a significant resource for the First Nations people of the Salish Sea; a wide variety of fish, shellfish and other invertebrates, waterfowl and marine mammals were utilized throughout the seasons.
