The NASA SCIence Files “is a television and web site production that focuses on solving real-world problems by using the scientific method and Problem-Based learning.” The main characters include six young detectives, a retired Science Professor, and the animated characters on KSNN, Kids Science News Network. The NASA SCIence Files video series is an hour-long show that has four 15 minute segments. In each segment, the tree house detectives investigate the problem by researching, interviewing experts, and conducting experiments. As a result of their scientific investigation, the tree house detectives discover the cause of particular problems. The NASA SCIence Files website gives kids, teachers, and parents a chance to explore problems in an interactive environment. Within the tree house, kids can learn more about careers, conduct hands-on experiments at home, make connections with Internet sites that support the video's educational theme, and more.
