Wildfacts is a simple animal encyclopedia with an online twist. Each entry includes basic information such as you would find in a print source, including diet, habitat, behavior, reproduction, and conservation status. But the website also provides many exceptional images as well as audio clips of the animals. Links to other BBC science pages that include Human Body and Mind, Genes, Space, Hot Topics, and TV and Radio are also easy to find and use from this site. Animal Games appear in the section titled Children's Zone.

To use the encyclopedia, simply find the animal of interest in the A to Z list or use the quick search. An advanced search allows you to narrow your search by group, distribution, habitat, diet, conservation status, or world record. For example, you might search for a specific record-holder such as the largest shark, or you might search more generally for inhabitants of ice floes in the Arctic. (This would be very useful for if you're looking for animals in specific biomes.)
