Moodle Training - Carolina Online Teacher Program
This course is part of the Carolina Online Teacher Program (COLT), a series of courses designed to prepare online instructors.
Begins March 10
Whether you’re a veteran of online courses or you’re curious about distance learning, the virtual classroom is now within every educator’s reach. You can teach an online course in your school or across your LEA thanks to LEARN NC and Moodle.
Moodle is an open source learning management system that empowers you to deliver the interactive and engaging content 21st Century learners expect and enjoy. You can easily integrate audio, video, images, as well as up-to-the minute Web content into your lessons and assignments.
Moodle packs all the functionality of platforms like Blackboard, but features a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. That’s why many schools across North Carolina have already adopted Moodle as their learning management system of choice.
LEARN NC will train you to leverage this powerful learning management system for your own online class. If you sign up for LEARN NC’s three-week Moodle Training, you’ll learn the how to manage a course online, from uploading assignments to grading tests to having online discussions via Moodle’s interactive message boards. Moodle Training will give you the knowledge you need to adapt an existing online course—or create one of your own.

Course objectives
Moodle Training is different from LEARN NC’s five-week Teaching Online Courses, which focuses on online pedagogy. This course prepares individuals to customize a course that has already been developed in the Moodle Learning Management System, i.e., platform training. Instructors learn all that they need to know for using the software.
Time commitment
