Built in the early 1800s, this restored historic mill still operates in the grinding of corn into grits and cornmeal. The mill welcomes student groups and their tours focus on 2nd and 3rd graders. Dates fill quickly, so the Mill advises teachers to make reservations well in advance of their visit. Contact Amy Simpson at 704-782-1600 or send e-mail to bostgristmill@netzero.com. The Grist Mill is located near the Reed Gold Mine on Highway 200.
