Teachers looking for historical information on Caldwell County will find it at the Caldwell Heritage Museum. The museum contains articles such as Native American spears and arrow points, early maps, grants, and deeds. Students will learn about the formation of Caldwell County and the establishment of the town of Lenoir. The museum also has collections dealing with medicine, music, military, cameras, and Oriental art.
The museum's exhibits are located in a hall behind what was once Davenport School at 112 Vaiden Street. Operating hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00am until 4:30pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Other times are available by appointment.
