At this historic area, visitors are invited to step back to a simpler time and relive part of America's heritage. The site is actually a historic complex, with four restored buildings that allows visitors to both see and experience life as it was generations ago. There is a four-story grain mill which has been restored. The Murray & Minges General Store is actually open for business, "selling anything from old-time candy and yo-yos to pickles and pottery." The three story old wheat granary displays folkart and John Murray's millwright home provide a glimpse of what it was like to live there long ago.

Murray's Mill is located near Hickory. It is open March through December 20th. Admission is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students under 17. To schedule a visit, send email to inquiry@catawbahistory.org.
