Airborne and Special Operations Museum

A visitor to the museum moves through time beginning with 1940 and the conception of the U.S. Army Parachute Test Platoon and ending with today's airborne and special operations units. With special focus on United States history, North Carolina history and core values education, the museum provides a forum for teachers and trainers to enhance their curriculum and bring students face to face with history.
Volunteers and docents are available to assist tour groups. Special rates are available for groups who wish to experience the Vistascope Theater and the Vista-Dome Motion Simulator during their visit. School and Military groups are encouraged to contact the museum at least three weeks in advance to find out about additional opportunities and discounts. Education/Curriculum Guides are available. on the website for grades k-12.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays.
