Built in the 1850s by Dr. Buckner Lanier Hill, Buckner Hill Plantation is one of the largest plantation houses in North Carolina. It is still surrounded by "hundreds of acres of cotton corn tobacco and cattle, provides a rare view of original, mostly undisturbed Greek Revival plantation architecture." Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Buckner Hill Plantation is open by appointment. 522 Taylor Town Road, Faison, North Carolina. 910-293-3001.
