The Mint Museum is comprised of two museums, the Mint Museum of Art and the Mint Museum of Craft and Design. The Art Museum's permanent collection includes American and European paintings, furniture, crafts, historic costumes, and decorative arts; African, pre-Columbian, and Spanish Colonial art; and an internationally acclaimed collection of pottery and porcelain. The Craft and Design museum's collection focuses on ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metalwork and wood pieces.

Through December 31, 2006, the Mint Museum of Craft and Design is exhibiting “Woven Worlds: Basketry from the Clark Field Collection at the Philbrook Museum of Art” an exhibit featuring 125 baskets created by Native Americans of the 19th and 20th centuries. These baskets represent the diverse cultures of tribes from as far north as the Arctic to those of the southeastern United States. Check out the Museum Wiki for more information.

In addition to the exhibition, the Museum is offering demonstration programs each Sunday afternoon in November showing North Carolina Indian crafts.
