The site of a Revolutionary War skirmish, the House in a Horseshoe is a historic site in Sanford, North Carolina. At its website, you will discover a bit of the history of this "architectural gem" during the Revolutionary War and biographies of Whig colonel and loyalist to England, Philip Alston as well as Governor Benjamin Williams, both who owned the house at one time. Also find the surrender terms of Philip Alston when he became a prisoner of war.
