In this activity from the National Geographic Xpeditions website, students take on the role of zoo director with a mission to teach people about the importance of biodiversity. Students examine maps and then create a map that shows where some endangered species live around the world. National Geographic provides links to world maps that show which endangered animal species live in all parts of the world. This lesson plan also provides modifications on the activity for younger and older students.
