A lesson plan for Grades K–2 Computer Technology Skills
In this lesson, the second of a six-lesson unit from Illuminations, students estimate the value of collections of pennies, nickels, and dimes. They then determine the exact amount by exchanging sets of pennies or nickels for dimes. They also visit the U.S. Mint website and make sets of coins with a given value and record them in a table. As an extension, they make and record patterns with the coins.
