Another overwash fan

Figure 11 shows the last overwash fan on this trip, I promise. This one destroyed the dune over which this walkway was built and moved the sand landward to cover the walkway deck in the background. If you look closely you will see a change in color on the seaward walkway posts, indicating where the sand level was before the hurricane. If you look at the far end of the walkway, you can see the sand level about 3 feet above the deck. The increased sand here, of course, came from the area of sand removal under the walkway around and in front of the seaward posts.
