4.5 Recipe: Strawberry Atole
Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups (170g) masa harina
- 6 cups (1.5 liter) water
- 2 cups (225g) strawberries, washed and hulled
- 1/4 cup (140g) brown sugar
Instructions
- Dissolve the masa harina in 4 cups of the water, let stand for 15 minutes. Strain.
- Puree the strawberries with 2 cups of water and the sugar. Drain.
- Combine both mixtures in a large saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Serve piping hot. Makes 8 servings.
