When she began working with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service she was a Home Demonstration Agent and also served as Assistant State 4H Leader.

From 1937 to 1957 Miss Current served as State Agent where she worked hard to make sure farm families had opportunities to learn new skills to use on their farms and in their homes.
