About the photograph

In 1957 as Assistant Director of the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service she made the Home Economics program even better.

Miss Current wanted a good reading program for North Carolina farm families. She also thought the program should include music and art.

She planned trips for many farm mothers to visit the United Nations in New York City, and other important places back home in North Carolina.
