The Khumbu Glacier is situated between Mount Everest and the Lhotse-Nuptse Ridge. It begins in the Western Cwm, flows down between the two mountains, and swerves to the right through the Khumbu valley. As it melts, the Khumbu Glacier drains into Nepal’s Lobujya (Lobuche) River. Mount Everest is continuously being eroded by the glacier.
