North Carolina history: Grade 4 educator's guide

This educator’s guide to North Carolina History: A Digital Textbook provides teaching suggestions designed to facilitate using the digital North Carolina history textbook with fourth-grade students.

While the digital textbook was designed for use in classrooms grades eight and up, many of the sources can be easily adapted for elementary students. This educator’s guide is organized to teach North Carolina history thematically, with chapters covering geography, people, and changes over time in the state’s society, politics, culture, technology, demographics, and economics.

Teachers in all grades will also benefit from consulting the eighth-grade educator’s guide, which provides an overview of the textbook, process guides, primary source worksheets, and more.
