Laksman is wounded

Ravana sends an army led by one of his demon brothers, Kumprakarn, to meet Rama's monkey army, which is led by Rama's brother Laksman. The demons are losing at the end of the day until Kumprakarn mortally wounds Laksman with the poison spear created by Ravana. With Laksman wounded, the demons are able to retreat to their walled city on Lanka Island. Here, the monkeys gather around Rama and his wounded brother. (Learn more)
