The backstrap loom consists of sticks, rope, and the strap that gives the loom its name. One end of the loom is tied to a stable object, like a door or a tree, and the other end is attached to the weaver by a strap that he wears around his waist. He sits on the ground as he weaves, pressing his feet against a log and leaning back to keep the yarn tight.
