Freedom Forum
The Freedom Forum “is a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation focuses on three main priorities: the Newseum, First Amendment freedoms and newsroom diversity.”The Freedom Forum offers a nonpartisan, international approach to educating people about the free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. Learning how and why news is made can help students to evaluate what they hear and read from the Mass Media. Newseum, the Forum’s interactive museum of news, hosts online exhibits including War Stories, Holocaust, the Untold Story and Stories of the Century. Another Freedom Forum program is The First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University. News, articles and weekly audio webcasts concerning the first amendment and issues related to freedom of the press, free speech, religion, assembly and petition are reported here. The Newsroom Diversity component of this site “works aggressively to identify, recruit and train people of color for journalism careers” and provides news, commentary, and analysis of issues related to diversity in the field of journalism.
