From National Geographic, Eye in the Sky is “an investigation into the state of the planet from the point of view of satellites.” In addition to providing a history of satellites and a series of classroom activities, this website is divided into four major categories that use the satellite perspective to explore science topics such as ozone, natural disasters, and exploration and social studies topics including war.
- Nature’s Fury looks at volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes.
- Human Impact explores floods and dams, ozone and pollution, deforestation and desertification, and overpopulation.
- Exploration journeys to Mars and archaeological digs.
- Human Conflict examines the plight of refugees and the impact of wars.
