Edheads: Activate Your Mind! presents an array of exciting, interactive activities for teachers to use with students or for students to use on their own. The choice of activities includes knee surgery, hip replacement surgery, hip resurfacing, compound machines, simple machines, weather, and a crash scene. A glossary of terms, actual photographs and teacher’s guide with tips and printable activities accompany each activity. Students can participate in an animated surgical procedure which proceeds in step-by-step fashion from diagnosis to surgery. The weather segment allows students to become a weather predictor at different levels of difficulty. Animated scenarios require students to select which simple or compound machines will best suit a particular task. All activities are suitable for classroom instruction or individual use.
