The Commission on Presidential Debates
The Commission on Presidential Debates “was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States leading presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates.%rdquo; The nonprofit, nonpartisan organization has sponsored all the general election debates in since 1988.
The Commission on Presidential Debates makes available on its website information about all of the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates that have been held since 1960, including transcripts of most of the debates, debate history, debate news, as well as the results from their Debate Watch program in which members of the public get together with friends to watch the debates, discuss them, and share feedback with the CPD.
