Bound For Glory: The Life and Times of Woody Guthrie is a comprehensive interactive exhibition from the Museum of Musical Instruments (MoMI) that integrates history, music, photographs, essays, poems, letters and drawings to tell the remarkable story of the legendary Woody Guthrie. This exhibition is meant to be an online complement to the Smithsonian Institution’s extraordinary traveling exhibition, “This Land Is Your Land: The Life and Legacy of Woody Guthrie.” It also includes informative articles and reviews of the Smithsonian production.This online exhibition gives a biographical account of Guthrie’s life as it traces his travels throughout the country, from his beginnings in Oklahoma to his entry into show business in California and his successes and challenges in New York, the Pacific Northwest, and Texas. Quotations, lyrics, letters, and images are intertwined with the biographical material. A seperate section contains sheet music for a few of his well-known songs including “This Land is Your Land” and “Pastures of Plenty.”
