BookHive is a website designed for children through the age of twelve, their parents, teachers, or anyone interested in reading about children’s books. Providing reader’s advisory service, this site contains hundreds of recommended book reviews in a variety of reading levels and interest areas.Users can search for books by author, title, reading level, interest area, number of pages, and even favorite illustrator. And students will find a number of fun activities and features designed to help them enjoy and appreciate books and reading even more. These activities and features include a selection of six bookplates that can be printed out to adhere to kids’ own personal books, a Harry Potter quiz, coloring pages, and their own personal booklist. There are also regularly featured stories that kids can listen to, if their computer is equipped with RealPlayer.Parents may find special parental notes attached to some reviews that provide additional information about the book.
