Antimatter Academy
http://livefromcern.web.cern.ch/livefromcern/antimatter/index.html
The Antimatter Academy is provided by CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics near Geneva, which is best known for enormous accelerators and research using very high energy particle beams. CERN’s unique antimatter factory, the Antiproton Decelerator is the antithesis of this. The Antiproton Decelerator has begun delivering antiprotons to experiments, in which antimatter will be studied in depth to determine if there is a difference between it and ordinary matter. In this website, learn everything you wanted to know about antimatter.
- The History of Antimatter: Look at developments in this area of physics from 1928 to 1995, the Accelerator Era, and antimatter in cosmology.
- The AD Factory: Find of what the AD is, how it works, and the experiments it is being used in.
- Antimatter Everyday: Discover how antimatter is important in PET scans, Star Trek, cosmic rays, science fiction, and antimatter propulsion.
Also on this website is an easy-to-understand explanation of antimatter for younger children, antimatter questions and answers, and an archive of video clips and webcasts.
