The British Museum’s Ancient Egypt explores all the fascinating topics you would expect - mummification, pyramids, gods and goddesses - but there is more. Each topic is presented using a story, a content-rich explore area, and a challenge activity. Egyptian Life provides a story of a day in the life of a nobleman or a farmer, explores the paintings in tombs for clues about how people lived, and a Shockwave game students can try called Senet. Geography is explored through a map or an interactive story, with a challenge that involves reading maps and assigning coordinates. Writing includes an overview of what parts of society used writing or a scribe’s story of the origin of writing, with a hieroglyph challenge. More chances to interact with the material are presented for the topics of Trade, Time, Temples, and more.
