The palace, the home of the Romanovs, had been used as a military installation by the Soviet Baltic Fleet since 1954. Included are biographies, many images of the inhabitants and the rooms as they were when occupied, floorplans of the rooms of the Alexander Palace, extracts and transcripts of diaries and letters, and references to many related history sites. Other items relating to life at the end of Imperial Russia found on this website are maps, rare online books, palaces, recipes, antique car images, and travelogues. Listen to an Edison recording of “God Save the Tsar” or participate in the many active discussion forums.
