Yad Vashem - The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance
Yad Vashem,The Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, was established in 1953. Online exhibits contain artifacts, including toys belonging to children of the Holocaust. Their archive collection is the largest and most comprehensive repository of material on the Holocaust in the world with 62 million pages of documents, nearly 267,500 photographs, thousands of films and videotaped testimonies of survivors. Their library has more than 90,000 titles in many languages, thousands of periodicals and a large number of rare and precious items. Many items from the archives and library, as well as testimonies and oral histories, are available through the website. Yad Vashem documents the history of the Jewish people during the Holocaust period, preserving the memory and story of victims. An educational activity to combat xenophobia is also available through the website.
